PhD defense Judith Zomer

On August 28, Judith Zomer will defend her PhD thesis entitled “Tracking dunes – On the morphology, interactions and sediment fluxes associated with multi-scale river dunes”. In this thesis, she explores fundamental insights into the prevalence, morphology, and sediment fluxes of secondary dunes, based on field data from the river Waal, an alluvial lowland river. Findings indicate that secondary dunes are ubiquitous and play a crucial role in understanding riverbed morphodynamics.

The defence will take place on August 28 2024 at 16:00h in the Omnia Auditorium in Wageningen, and everyone interested can join. Alternatively, it will be broadcasted via https://wur.yuja.com (Judith’s name will appear under “event” shortly before the start of the defence).
