Niguse Hagos MSc

PhD candidate Environmental Fluid Mechanics

Niguse holds a bachelor’s degree in Water Resources Engineering from Bahirdar University and a master’s degree in Hydraulic and Hydropower Engineering from Arbaminch University, both in Ethiopia. During his time at Mekelle University (Tigray, Ethiopia), he gained valuable experience and skills in hydrology, hydraulics, and hydraulic engineering, including direct involvement in small hydropower development, riverbank protection, rural gravel road, and embankment dam projects.

Currently, as a Ph.D. candidate, he is delving deep into the realm of ‘sediment transport and morphodynamics in semi-arid river systems’. His research endeavors focus on unraveling the intricate processes governing sediment movement and river channel evolution in these environments, offering crucial insights into the development of sustainable river basin management practices.
