PhD candidate Environmental Fluid Mechanics

As a PhD candidate, I work on sediment transport and morphodynamics of deltas. I aim to better understand near-bed processes affecting transport of sand-mud mixtures by a combination of field and laboratory measurements. I am interested in the effect of baroclinic flow on net sediment transport in estuaries, which should be revealed by measurements and (conceptual) modelling. The overall aim is to improve long-term modelling of sediment transport and morphodynamics, by implementing the found knowledge in numerical modelling tools.
